15 Day Tour in Morocco
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Rabat
Upon arrival at the airport, we’ll drive to Casablanca for a tour of the Hassan II Mosque. Afterward, we’ll proceed to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel/riad.
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
After breakfast, we’ll visit the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah in Rabat. Then, we’ll head to Fes, stopping in Meknes to explore the famous Bab Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani Basin, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, we’ll continue to Volubilis, a Roman settlement from the 3rd century BC with well-preserved mosaics. We’ll then drive through the Rif mountain foothills to arrive in Fes in the late afternoon.
Day 3: Fes Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a walking tour of the Medina of Fes. We’ll visit the Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah, the Al Qaraouine University, the famous tanneries, the Attarine museum, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, we’ll visit the mosaic factory, followed by a tour of the new town “La ville nouvelle.” Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel/riad.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we’ll leave Fes for Merzouga, stopping in Ifrane, a picturesque mountain village in the Middle Atlas Mountains known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” to see the Barbary Apes in the cedar forest. We’ll drive through the Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. We’ll stop for lunch in Errachidia, then continue to the Ziz Valley for a panoramic view of Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga. Dinner and an overnight stay at a riad.
Day 5: Merzouga and Camel Trek
After breakfast, we’ll explore Merzouga and visit the Gnawa people to experience their music and lifestyle. We’ll also visit the Merzouga Lake, a birdwatcher’s paradise, and a nomad shop for Berber handicrafts. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a camel trek to a desert camp, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We’ll rise early for a camel ride back to Merzouga to catch the sunrise. After breakfast, we’ll depart for Rissani, Tinghir, and the Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. We’ll have lunch in the gorge, then drive through the Dades Valley to see majestic sand castles and “monkey toes” rock formations. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel/riad.
Day 7: Dades Gorge – Bouthaghrar – Skoura – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we’ll travel through the Dades Valley to Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. We’ll take the scenic route called “the road of the thousand kasbahs,” visiting the Dades Gorge, Bouthaghrar, Skoura, and the Amerhidil Kasbah. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel/riad in Ouarzazate.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Imlil
After breakfast at the Ksar hotel, we’ll travel through the stunning Tizi ‘nTichka pass to Asni and Imlil, villages in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco built by T-Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs. After a short visit to the Kasbah, we’ll continue our journey over the high Tizi n’Tichka Pass to Asni and Imlil. Dinner and overnight at our hotel/Riad.
Day 9: Area Arumd and Imlil
After breakfast, you’ll have the chance to explore the area and experience the Berber culture. You can choose to take a few hours walk in the valley to see the highest mountain in North Africa and visit the small Berber settlement of Arumd. In the afternoon, you can stay in the Kasbah and enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight at our hotel/Riad.
Day 10: Imlil – Tahnaout – Marrakech
After breakfast in the Kasbah, we’ll prepare to depart for Marrakech via the Berber village of Tahnaout and the fascinating canyon of Moulay Brahim. We’ll make several stops along the way to take pictures before arriving in Marrakech, where we’ll see the Majorelle gardens and check into our Riad. After dinner, enjoy a walk on the famous square Jemaa El Fna. Overnight in Riad.
Day 11: Marrakech exploring
After breakfast, we’ll start exploring Marrakech, the “red city of Morocco.” We’ll ensure that you see the most important historical and cultural sites of interest, including the Saadian tombs, the Palace of El Bahia and the Ben Youssef Koranic School, and the souks. Lunch will be at a restaurant near the square. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to wander through Marrakech on your own. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.
Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Essaouira to explore the city. We’ll visit the fort Skala, the harbor, and the souks, and meet the specialization of Essaouira, editing, and cutting of Thuya wood by craftsmen. Essaouira is known for its strong winds and is called the ‘City of the wind’. Your visit includes the Mellah – the Jewish headquarters, as well as the broad and expansive golden sandy beach. Overnight at Riad/hotel.
Day 13: Essaouira – Walidia (Oualidia) – El Jadida
Today, after breakfast, we’ll leave for Walidia, taking the beautiful coastal road along the Atlantic Ocean. This small town is situated between El Jadida and Safi and has a beautiful lagoon of 12 km long, making it one of the most beautiful lagoons in Morocco. After a visit to the remains of the Kasbah, you’ll have the opportunity for lunch. After lunch, we’ll leave for El Jadida. Overnight in El Jadida.
Day 14: El Jadida – Casablanca
Set out on an adventure to El Jadida, a charming port town on the Atlantic coast. Built as a fortified colony in the 16th century, El Jadida boasts of a beautiful castle with impressive bastions that showcase its rich history. In 2004, the city’s historical center was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the day exploring the town at your leisure and in the afternoon, depart to the bustling metropolis of Casablanca for an overnight stay.
Day 15: Transfer to the Airport
On the final day of your journey, enjoy a hassle-free transfer to the airport in Casablanca. Take with you the memories of your amazing adventures and the rich culture and history of Morocco.
